Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program
Keystone Elementary School was awarded a federal grant for the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for the 2023-2024 school year!
The USDA's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program provides funding to participating schools so they can provide a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables to children throughout the school day. It is an effective and creative way to introduce fresh fruits and vegetable as a healthy snack option.
The goals of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program are to:
- Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices
- Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience
- Increase children's fruit and vegetable consumption
- Make a difference in children's diets to impact their present and future health
