The March Board Agenda featured the approval of some new faces joining the Bristol Township School District in key positions.

Dr. Katherine Schultz named as new Director of Pupil Services/Special Education

Dr. Katherine Schultz is returning to the Bristol Township School District as the Director of Pupil Services and Special Education.

Schultz worked for the Bristol Township School District from 2021 to 2024 as a Special Education Supervisor prior to departing for the Easton Area School District to serve as their Director of Special Education.  Schultz will now lead the BTSD pupil services and special education departments, replacing Dr. Al Oberman, who is heading to the Council Rock School District.

Schultz brings a wealth of experience and comprehensive knowledge of student services to the position.  She began her career in education as a high school Life Skills teacher and has also served as an adjunct professor, program administrator and consultant during her career in education.

Schultz earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary and Special Education and a Master’s of Education from Millersville University.  She then received a special education supervisory certificate from Penn State University and earned her Doctorate of Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Schultz will begin her duties with the district in May.

“We are excited to welcome back Dr. Schultz to the Bristol Township School District, where she has already built many connections and relationships with our school community,” Superintendent Michael Nitti stated.  “We look forward to the work she will do building our programs and working with our students.”

Carrie Myers joins BTSD as new Human Resources Manager

Carrie Myers is joining Bristol Township School District as the new Human Resources Manager.

Myers replaces Alison Buchan, who is retiring from the school district after over four decades of service.

Myers brings many years of experience in human resources management to BTSD.  She has been the Director of Human Resources for the Penndel Mental Health Center since 2010, where she was responsible for all HR operations and processes.  Prior to joining Penndel, Myers served as the Human Resources Director for the Sheraton Bucks County Hotel.

Myers has been a SHRM Certified Professional in Human Resources since 2004.  She was nominated as the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year in 2020 and honored as the Human Resources Director of the Year for the Remington Hotel Corporation in 2008.

Myers earned her Bachelor's Degree from East Stroudsburg University.  She will assume leadership of the BTSD HR department in April.

“We welcome Ms. Myers to BTSD and look forward to her managing a human resources department that is efficient, effective and dedicated to building a supported and professional staff,” Nitti commented.
