Lanae Carrington, a standout performer for the Truman High School Track and Cross-Country programs, signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Lehigh University.
Carrington will bring to the Mountain Hawks a legacy of achievement as one of the top, and most versatile, track athletes in the area. Particularly strong in the longer sprints and hurdles, Carrington will head into the track season looking to defend division and league championships in a myriad of events.
Carrington is also an excellent student, and deeply involved in her community. A member of the National Honor Society, she volunteers for a number of philanthropic endeavors and was recently honored as Miss. Unity by the Boots on the Ground Foundation.
Carrington will join a Lehigh Women’s Track program that competes in the very competitive Patriot League, finishing fifth in the most recent conference championship.
“Lanae is an outstanding ambassador of Truman High School and an exceptional student-athlete,” Truman Athletic Director Tom Monaghan stated. “We are very proud of her for this accomplishment and excited to see what she will do at Lehigh.”
