At a signing ceremony held by Athletic Director Tim Monaghan, five stellar Harry S. Truman High School student-athletes announced their college commitments to continue their athletic and academic careers.
From the Tigers’ baseball program, standout Gavin Kenworthy will continue his career on the diamond at Ursinus College. The versatile and athletic Kenworthy is also an outstanding student in the classroom and a member of Truman’s golf team. Kenworthy joins a Bears' baseball team coming off a 20-20 season in 2025.
Another member of Truman’s baseball team will also be taking his skills to the next level, as pitcher Austin Allen will join the program at St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, New York. Allen was honored as an All-SOL National 2nd Team performer, and is also an exceptional bowler for Truman’s varsity program, where he earned 1st Team All-League accolades. Allen joins a Bonnies' program coming off a 20-29 season in 2025.
From the Truman softball team, talented Jillian Saperstein will continue her career at Penn State Abington University. A three-year member of the Truman Varsity Softball program and an exceptional student, Saperstein takes her considerable talents on the diamond to a Nittany Lions' program that went 15-24 in 2025.
Aubrey Thompson from Truman’s Varsity Girls Soccer program will continue her impressive exploits on the pitch as a member of Gwynedd Mercy University's program. Thompson, a 4-year member of the Tigers’ program, earned All-League Honorable Mention accolades as a goaltender, and brings her strong skills as a netminder to the Griffins, who went 11-9-1 last season, losing in the championship game of the Atlantic East tournament to Marymount.
Finally, two-sport athlete Lawson Pearce, a standout in both golf and baseball for the Truman Tigers, will continue his academic and athletic career as a Knight at Arcadia University.
“We are very proud of these exceptional student-athletes,” Monaghan stated. “We wish them the best and are excited about their bright futures.”
