Luke Miller will be joining the Bristol Township School District as the new District Safety and Security Coordinator as the new school year commences.

In this vital Act 93 leadership role, Miller will work with the administrative team to implement best practices with regard to school safety and ensure that the district is in compliance with all mandates pertaining to school safety and security.  Miller will also supervise the district’s security team and implement drills, training and procedures that help make the schools safe, positive and supportive learning environments.

“There is nothing more important to us than the safety and security of our students and staff,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. Chris Polzer stated.  “We are very happy to welcome Mr. Miller to our team and excited to see what he will bring to the district.

Miller, a Bristol Township resident with students in the school system, brings extensive experience to his new position and the district.  He was with the Princeton University Department of Public Safety for seventeen years, rising to various leadership roles and giving him a background in all aspects of educational institution safety and security.

“We were impressed with Mr. Miller’s qualifications and his experiences with schools and students,” Dr. Polzer added.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps who possesses a variety of security credentials and certifications, Miller also has experience as an educator and a coach, which made him uniquely qualified for the position.

“We truly believe that anyone who works with our students, in our schools, is an educator,” Dr. Polzer stated.  “Mr. Miller certainly embodied those qualities and expectations.”

Miller will be involved in all aspects of the district’s security initiatives, including event operations planning, emergency response and as a liaison to the police.

“I am appreciative of this opportunity and looking forward to working with the staff, getting to know the students, and making sure the schools are safe and secure places to learn," Miller stated.
