Board Accepts Principal Cubberly's Retirement; Brookwood Principal Search to Commence
At its meeting on Monday evening, the School Board of Directors accepted Principal Jacqueline Cubberly's retirement from the Bristol Township School District, effective January 2, 2025.
Cubberly worked for the Bristol Township School District for over 19 years, serving as principal of Brookwood Elementary School from its opening eight years ago until this school year. Cubberly was known for her commitment to "Joyful Teaching and Joyful Learning" and prioritizing the needs of her students. As a school leader, she emphasized the essence of classroom life and the importance of developing the whole child—academically, socially and emotionally.
“We are very appreciative of Principal Cubberly's work on behalf of the Bristol Township School Community and her many contributions during her long career in the district,” Superintendent Michael Nitti stated. “We wish for her the happiest and most enjoyable of retirements.”
Brookwood Elementary School is now being served admirably by Interim Principal Christina Lang, but will move immediately to have a permanent principal in place by early 2025. A posting will be developed and disseminated widely. A district email ([email protected]) has been established for any school community member to share thoughts or ideas related to the principal vacancy and search. Additionally, a committee of stakeholders with relevance and expertise will be a part of the screening process, as the district seeks to hire an outstanding school leader to be the next principal of Brookwood Elementary School.
“We will work collaboratively and effectively to bring an outstanding principal to Brookwood who will help build a positive and supportive school culture focused on student achievement,” Nitti added.
