Experienced administrator Christina Lang has joined the Bristol Township School District as the Interim Principal for Brookwood Elementary School.

Lang began her duties with the district after Board approval on August 19th.  It is anticipated that Lang will serve as principal at Brookwood until after a search process for a permanent, tenure-track principal is concluded and a successor is named, most likely in early 2025.

Lang brings a strong legacy as a skilled and expert administrator to the Bristol Township School District.  She worked as a social studies middle school teacher in the Hatboro-Horsham School District, as an assistant principal in Central Bucks, as a principal for the New Hope Solebury School District, and then returned to Central Bucks School District as a building principal.  Lang retired from Central Bucks in 2018, and has been working with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit as an evaluator for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers.  In this capacity, Lang had the opportunity to visit after-school programs at all Bristol Township schools and become very familiar with the BTSD school community.

Lang has also been highly involved in professional development and instructional improvement throughout her long career in education.  She has established professional learning communities focused on improving student achievement, citizenship and community service learning.  She is also well-versed in and has provided training in Infinite Campus, Understanding by Design, PVASS and Sharepoint.

Lang earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University and a Master's of Science, with honors, and her Principal Certification from Gwynedd-Mercy College.

"We are pleased to have Mrs. Lang join us in this interim role and lead us through this transition time at Brookwood," Superintendent Michael Nitti stated.  "She brings credibility, integrity and experience to the position, and we believe she will do a great job for the students and provide us meaningful insight as we move toward the hiring of a new, permanent principal. I know she is very excited to work with the staff at Brookwood and open up the school year with the students."

According to Superintendent Nitti, the district will release a communication to the Brookwood School Community about the collaborative search process for a new permanent principal to the Brookwood School Community once it commences.

“The goal is to bring an outstanding student-centered school principal to Brookwood who will provide exceptional leadership to a special school community for many years,” said Mr. Nitti.

For her part, Mrs. Lang is looking forward to the opening of the school year and getting to know all the members of the Brookwood School Community.

"Although there are always challenges to be met and a lot of work to be done, I can honestly say that working with students, teachers, and staff gives me great joy," Mrs. Lang shared.  "I look forward to working with the excellent staff at Brookwood to provide the students a wonderful learning experience."
